No geodetic measurements have been made at Santa Isabel, the largest volcano which forms the island of Bioko. Three eruptions have occurred recently (1923, 1903 ~1898), from the SE flank, although no scientific studies have described these.

Santa Isabel can be seen in the lower centre of this NASA landsat image (1999). Large NE-SW faults can be seen, as well as Malabo the largest city on this island, on the northern coast.
