The Katwe-Kikorongo volcanic field is located to the south of the Ruwenzori Range. There are no reported geodetic studies describing deformation at this volcano.

The Katwe-Kikorongo volcanic field can be seen in this image between Lakes Edward and George, and north of the river which joins them. It is thought some of the maars or tuff rings were active in historical times (local folk tales, n.d).
